"Shoot them all! Shoot them all! : The terrorists’ Sing,
Shoot them all! Shoot them all! Mumbai cries.
A ruined city of ruined lives begs for mercy and seeks reprise.
Life can’t be so cheap! Death can’t be so welcome!
Icons of prosperity and progress now smoulder, silent witnesses to a changing world and changing fortune.
News channels, strike fear and uncertainty, directing their own primetime movie.
Poor English, nauseating repetition, no care for peoples’ feelings, shouting down each other.
Some try to steal the limelight, only to win awards..who cares about real lives and real stories?
A police force unequipped, even worse, severely unprepared, face death fearlessly, their meeting effortless.
4 pillars of Indian security come together. 150 against 15, life’s unfairness, its David versus Goliath.
A politician sparks communal sentiments, the city united begins to crumble. "

Why the cake?: First Poem
Walk into a coffee shop together,
She Orders Dutch cake, fruits with a hint of ginger,
Thoughts inside shout, “Unplanned disaster...Fuck sake!”
I protest, “Hardly a place to get a good cake”!
I look at her and glance at her perfect figure,
Does she like the treadmill and all that fitness rigour?
Thoughts shift, when she orders one for me…
I say! To be independent and free!
As the cakes replace the comfortable silences shared,
I think whether enough I have cared (For her).
Paying the bill we leave the place,
The aroma of coffee still beckoning, with a gentle haze.
We head towards the sandy and desolate beach,
Walk towards the whooshing waves and a setting sun, out of reach.
Lost in this moment, I fail to realise,
Turned towards me we see ourselves eye to eye,
What a perfect moment of utter bliss,
We had shared the most beautiful first kiss.
Later I realised the reason behind the damn cake,
She didn’t want to make a moment of passion, a stinky mistake!

Farewell , My Good "Friends"
We were a group of 4 coursemates, a Sri-Lankan, a Malaysian and a Greek( all guys). For 3 years we used to hang out together, study , exchange ideas and notes, help each other out with coursework, clear doubts ,why we were also lab mates. So naturally there was a level of comfort with each other. We enjoyed every bit of it.
Graduation came calling this year.......................for them. I was the only one among the group to continue on an MEng degree. The truth was that I thought I would be OK with it.......not such a great thing...you make friends and you move on when the time comes.
Two of them left. Sad part was that they left without me knowing about it. Idiotically I visited their flats and found out that they had checked out many days ago. What hurt me more that I was later told of their departure by my 3rd friend.. .
Did the last 3 years mean nothing to them? Not even enough to say bye and exchange future contact detail? Did the fact that I stay on the floor below them not even come to their mind? Not a call .. not even an msn chat blip was sent out to me..
Were they really my friends? Or did I just assume that ! What a fool Ive been ! Words cannot describe how sad I feel....

Cash:Music Review ( Worth every Penny!Even if you download it illegally!)
I have been a fan of the music directors since their first ever effort "Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi". But I'm sure everyone will agree that "Jhankaar Beats" was the movie that brought them fame and gave them true recognition.
But I always thought them to be the duo who churned out good music but with varying effects of success. I always noticed that only a few of their songs or albums actually made it to the top of the popularity charts. Their work was seemingly inconsistent in comparison to Shankar-Ehsan-Loy, A.R.Rahman,Pritam or even recently Shantanu Moitra( From the current lot) . I dont take the names of music directors Anu Malik or Jatin-Lalit as the former has seemingly given up making quality music while the latter had a spat and are no longer together.
For the past 2 years since 2005 though, they have been on a roll. Which brings me back to Cash. After their tepid "Ta Ra Rum Pum" I was suprised by the amount of energy that is infused into every song in the album. A lot of passion hardwork and a bit of stolen American tunes later , the product is , in my opinion quite excellent.
One expected that after the brilliant "Dus" album, they would have to come out with something that was on par or even better than it. With Cash , they seem to have just got it right.
I would say that it does bode well for Anubhav 'Dus' Sinha's latest offering.. I hope it will not be as bad as the much hyped Dus. ( Desi 24 version?? Egad!)
Listening to the tracks, I especially liked the title track , Naughty Naughty and Naa Puchho. although i must have to say that I would have thought that Alisha Chinoy would have been a better singer of the Naughty Naughty song.
Phew! That was tough!
